Flatten Islamabad flattest running routes in Islamabad

ShortestFlattest
How this works

Streets. The whole OpenStreetMap street network of Islamabad (Rawalpindi included), including the Margalla trails: about 109,000 corners and 139,000 segments.

Elevation. Copernicus GLO-30, ESA's global 30 m elevation model (vertical accuracy about ±2 m, better on open ground). It is sampled every 10 m along each street, and wiggles under 1 m are ignored so noise cannot invent climbing. Climbing is cumulative gain, not the net difference between the endpoints.

The slider. Every route that nothing else beats on both distance and climbing, from the shortest path to the flattest one worth running (where a metre of climb costs 200 m of running).

Run vs bike. Both ignore one-way streets, which are a rule for cars. Running may use stairs; cycling avoids them, so pins snap to the nearest cyclable street when you switch.

Time. Your flat pace plus 45 s for every 10 m climbed. Tap the pace to change it.

Caveats. A 30 m model cannot see a short ramp, an underpass or a footbridge, so the steepest figure is indicative and the total climbing on a 5 km run is good to roughly ±10 m.
